[Hong Kong] New Weekend Lunch Menu at Ecriture

New weekend lunch menu at Ecriture! The menu consists of 6 courses with dishes that are a little bit more casual compared to its regular tasting menu at dinner. For HK$788 per person, it was a lot of food and we came away happily stuffed. The meal started with a delicious spread of cold cuts including bonito, cuttlefish, grouse, ikura, pickles, blinis, uni, pate en croute and Carantec oyster plus homemade seaweed bread. After this course alone, I think most of us were already half full.

The meal continued with this Normandy Whelk Tartare with sugar peas and pickled cucumber. The sugar peas were deliciously sweet and the chunks of whelk added a nice bouncy texture to the dish.

Taiyouran Japanese Egg with Pertuis green asparagus in Vin Jaune sauce - what's not to love about this perfectly cooked egg?

For the Ricotta & Spinach Agnolotti with parsley roots consommé and lemon thyme oil, the light consomme with its clean taste was the highlight for me.

The main dish was this gorgeous Aveyron Special Blanc de Blanc Lamb Gigot served with a beautifully crusted Charlotte potatoes gratin with poutargue! The whole lamb leg was paraded in front of us first before serving. What appeared back in front of us was thin slices of the lamb which were just incredibly tender.

I can seriously eat this everyday.

Then finally we finished our lunch with a platter of indulgent desserts with flan, kouign aman, chocolate & caramel tart and cantaloupe! The kouign aman with sour cream filling was delicious as always. The tart and flan are new; the former was very rich and sweet while the latter was rather light in contrast.

What a great way to spend the weekend!
