[Shanghai] 1* Meet The Bund 遇外滩

My favorite meal on my most recent Shanghai trip was at 1* Meet The Bund 遇外滩! We headed to the the newest location on the North Bund with breathtaking views of the skyline on the 56/F. Focusing on southern Fujian cuisine 福建菜, the restaurant is helmed by Chef Chen Zhiping who was the recipient of the Michelin Young Chef Award. The meal was an impressive one with many highlights - one of which is the most famous dish in Fujian cuisine “Buddha Jumps Over The Wall” 佛跳牆 whose flavors were complex and refined. Other favorites included the drunken mantis prawn, steamed squid with seaweed, deep fried pork with balsamic vinegar, baked crab with Sichuan peppercorn, baked pig intestines with sesame oil & ginger, and the irresistible baked taro in scallion oil!
