Follow me to Gaggan - Asia’s Best Restaurant 2025! The restaurant needs little introduction as it had been crowned the top spot in Asia for the record fifth time by World's 50 Best Restaurants since 2015. How do I even began to describe my dining experience? There’s music, singing, blacklight, disco ball, and even rat brains (maybe?)! It’s all about reinventing fine dining and pushing the boundary. With just 14 seats at the chef’s counter, diners are taken through a multi-sensory journey by the rebel chef. The 25-course menu is divided into 5 acts with the first 3 acts dedicated to the countries that has influenced Gaggan the most - India, Japan, and Thailand. Each dish tells a unique story but what really carries the show is the larger than life personality of the culinary rock star. “Be a rebel” - this is certainly not your run of the mill fine dining experience, so expect the unexpected when dining at Gaggan. My last visit to Gaggan was 8 years ago at its first location when it was still serving the emoji menu. A lot has happened since then with the closure of the restaurant and its reopening a few years later. The way it climbed back up to number 1 again on Asia's 50 Best after 10 years was nothing short of a comeback and redemption. I'd admit that not every dish on this menu worked for me, but for those who are after a non-conventional dining experience, this is certainly a place not to be missed.
