[Hong Kong] Alley Street Food Market at PMQ by FeedMe Guru

Not sure what to do on Saturdays? Check out the Alley Street Food Market by FeedMe Guru which will take place at PMQ every Saturday from 12-7pm starting from today for 8 weeks! Showcasing the city’s most trendy food and beverage concepts, you can expect to see some of the hottest restaurants and bars serving their signature dishes and drinks along with live music performances. Up to 11 concepts will be participating each week which will change from week to week including Beef & Liberty, Bread and Beast, Bread n Butter Café, Com Banh Mi, Drunken Pot, First Floor, Flint Grill & Bar, Moyo, Munchies, MyHouse, Nice Pops, La Paloma, Prancing Pony, Punch Detox, Topiary, VCNCY, Zuc.cch.ero and many more!

I got to preview some of the offerings earlier this week as we hopped to 3 places in one night starting with Topiary - a stylish cocktail and whisky bar that serves 100% vegan canapes! The bar serves shim cocktails which are hand-crafted and made with the finest ingredients along with a mesmerizing visual appeal. My favorite cocktail here was this dreamy Low Hanging Fruit with Belvedere vodka, Kina d'Or, pear puree, lemon juice and thyme syrup!

Reading the Tea Leaves with Tanqueray gin, tea liquer, lemon juice and yuzu marmalade jam.

Bulleit Bourbon Sour with Bulleit bourbon, lemon juice and egg white.

Only the cocktails will be available at the food market but they should seriously consider bringing some of their vegan canapes which were delicious like the Wolfberry Garden and the Vegetarian Mini Burgers!

The Truffle Fries were also irresistible!

Our next stop was MOYO where we were here to try its Korean Fried Chicken! MOYO is a modern Korean fusion restaurant where the owner is a Korean who grew up in Italy so expect influences from both of those cultures in the dishes here. They will be offering the KFC with 4 different sauces at the food market and I loved dipping the boneless crispy fried chicken in the sweet soy sauce the most!

We also ended up trying a few signature dishes here and I could not stop eating the Drunken Clams with rice wine Makgeolli, garlic, lemon zest and chili!

Brussels Sprouts with Korean Dwaenjang paste, almonds and peanut butter.

Cacio, Pepe e Noci Rice Cakes with Percorino Romano cheese, walnuts, and black pepper.

Carbonara Rice Cakes with Parmegiano reggiano, pecorino, egg yolk and pork.

Our last stop was Bread n Butter Cafe at PMQ where we saved the best for last with Raclette Cheese served with 20 year prosciutto ham and baby potatoes. It smelled amazing as we waited for the cheese to be heated and tasted even more so with its oozing and melting cheese!

I can't wait to check out the rest of the offerings at the food market today and the area is actually covered so you don't have to worry about getting wet because of the rainy weather!

Update: I had a lot of fun yesterday exploring the other vendors at the food market so here's a snippet of other things to try. It was quite hot and humid yesterday so I went straight to the Nice Pops booth for some icy goodness. I ended up trying the gorgeous Honeydew Berry Sorbet and the boozy Passionfruit Mojito which were both refreshing but it was the delicious honeydew flavor that stole my heart!

It was one photogenic dessert after another when the smoking liquid nitrogen popcorn from ZUC.CCH.ERO caught my eye! With many flavors to choose from, I went for the non-standard flavors like Corn Soup and Seaweed which was swished in liquid nitrogen before being served. The visual appeal was definitely there and the flavors were certainly interesting but my favorite flavor will always be caramel when it comes to popcorn!

I loved the hot pot at The Drunken Pot so I couldn't resist trying its mega cute Penguin Shaped Squid Balls which you can choose to be dipped into any 5 flavors of its hot pot broth. Other options include the Scallop Balls which was served on a pretty sea shell and the Crab Leg which was grilled with garlic on top!

If you didn't get a chance to visit yesterday, be sure to pop by next Saturday to check it out!
