[Hong Kong] New Weekend Brunch at Casa Lisboa!

Rating: ❤❤❤❤ (4/5)

Brunching is almost like a ritual in Hong Kong and I just discovered a new weekend brunch at Casa Lisboa that's not only delicious but friendly for the wallet too! Before moving to its new location, Casa Lisboa has always been a go-to place for those looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine and the new weekend brunch is sure to be another great reason to visit. For only HK$350, you will get 6 starters for sharing plus 1 main course and 1 dessert of your choice. And for those who can't get through brunches without alcohol, free-flow options starts from HK$150 where you can choose from Red Sangria, Vinho Verde and standard wines as well.

The first of our starters included this flavorful Sapateira - a Portuguese cold crab salad that we spread onto pieces of toasted bread to eat.

Next was this refreshing Algarvia Tartare with beetroot, carrot, goat cheese, coriander and honey mustard vinaigrette.

Alentejo Gazpacho with green apple, chorizo, ham, oregano, olive oil and vinegar.

Garlic Octopus with chili, coriander and Vinho Verde.

The Codfish Cakes with parsley and garlic mayonnaise rivaled those that we had when we were in Lisbon earlier this year!

Clams Casa Lisboa with tomato, garlic, chili, coriander and white wine.

For mains, I struggled to make a choice since everything sounded really good but I ended up getting this classic Leitao a Bairrada (slow roasted suckling pig "A Bairrada" style) which turned out to be amazing! The suckling pig was moist and flavorful while the skin was super crispy.

J went for the Bacalhau a Braz with shredded bacalhau with potato, onion, parsley, olives and scrambled egg. This was nicely fried here but a bit salty for our taste.

Another one that was highly recommended to us was the Casa Lisboa Francesinha with roast beef, chourico, pork belly, cheese, egg, potatoes and house sauce in the bread. Honestly I wasn't a big fan of the francesinha that I had in Lisbon but this sure looked delish here! I was told that this is only available on the weekend brunch menu - guess this is another reason to go back!

For dessert, we were recommended to try the Pineapple Raviolis with vanilla ice cream and pistachio sponge and the Bolo de Bolacha (Portuguese biscuit cake with vanilla ice cream). The former was more refreshing while the latter was sweet and more indulgent - both were fabulous ways to end the weekend brunch!
