[Taiwan: Taitung] Sinasera 24 - A Destination Restaurant
Rating: 4.5/5
Hello Taitung! From Taipei, we made the long journey to Sinasera 24 - a beautiful destination restaurant located on the east coast of Taiwan. Surrounded by mountains and views of the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant is helmed by the talented young chef Nick Yang who had trained at Le Petit Nice in south of France. His cuisine not only showcases Taiwanese ingredients but also the local aboriginal Amis culture. We arrived just in time for a “casual” lunch where the dishes were nothing short of exquisite, so we had high expectations for dinner.
Our dinner turned out to be even more incredible than our lunch! The theme of the seasonal menu is herbs and the night started with a showcase of many different herbs on a trolley cart. Then we had a series of impressive seafood dishes such as the locally farmed White Jade Snail with porcini, the semi-raw lobster served sizzling on a rock, and the abalone with creamy risotto. We ended the evening with an anniversary cake for us as well - a perfect night even with an impending typhoon looming on us! Hopefully we can be back next time during game season.
