[Hong Kong] Review: Staycation at K11 ARTUS

In need of a getaway? Although it's not possible to travel at the moment, luckily we still have the option to do staycations in Hong Kong and there are tons of great deals to be had lately! I recently had the chance to stay at K11 ARTUS - the luxurious residence which opened last year on the waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui. While the rooms are equipped for long term stays with washing machine and a fully equipped open kitchen, short term stays are welcomed as well.

I was taken to the lobby on the 10th floor to complete the check-in process and was immediately mesmerized by the retro explorer slash library-like decor. Bookshelves lined the walls and magnifying glasses can be found on the coffee tables. Library ladders on both ends of the lobby complete the look. There is an actual library and reading area right above the lobby area which is accessible via a spiral staircase.

Next to the lobby is The Living Salon where guests can lounge on sofas and chairs while playing board games or admiring views of the city.

ROOM:

Eight different room types are available ranging from studio all the way to a penthouse. The biggest selling point here is that all rooms have a private balcony. It's the perfect spot to soak up the views of Victoria Harbour or the bustling city in the privacy of your own room. I would definitely recommend choosing the side with Victoria Harbour as you are provided with unparalleled views of the Hong Kong skyline.

Our room type was a one-bedroom with a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, separate dining and living areas, and an open kitchen.

The room is carefully decorated with pieces of Chinese craftsmanship from decorative plates to bowls. The contemporary porcelain tableware by Legle France can be found on the dining table as well.

While on the small side, the open kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cooker, oven, coffee machine, refrigerator and washing machine. A hidden pantry near the entrance contains the cooking ware that you'd need if you wish to do your own cooking.

The bedroom features a king-sized bed, TV, walk-in closet and a work desk which doubles as a dressing table.

Imagine waking up to this view everyday.

The bathroom is quite large with two separate areas - one for the toilet and the other for the standing shower and bathtub. Amenities are from Aesop.

FACILITIES:

The residence has a 25 meter outdoor infinity pool and a 24-hour gym, but both were closed off to guests during our visit due to social distancing regulations.

DINING:

There is one restaurant onsite at ARTUS, but the dining options are actually quite vast because you can order food from a wide variety of restaurants in K11 MUSEA and have them delivered to your room with no extra charge.

So during our stay, we had the afternoon tea set from Artisan Lounge right in our room! Artisan Lounge is a all-day dining concept located in the grand atrium of K11 MUSEA and is probably best known for serving the most expensive afternoon tea set in Hong Kong for HK$1688/person (not the set we had!).

For dinner, we ate at The Commune - the onsite restaurant at ARTUS. The Wagyu Beef Noodle came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint. The wagyu beef was of high quality and the deliciously sweet broth was laced with hints of Asian herbs.

We also tried the Barbecued Iberico Pork Loin with Fried Egg & Rice. While the char siu was satisfactory, the rice was too soft and mushy for our taste.

Breakfast took place at The Commune again and it was hard not to stare at the beautiful views of Victoria Harbour through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The restaurant offers a choice of Chinese or Western breakfast. We both chose the Western which came with eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, pastries, fruits and yogurt. My latte arrived with a cute message 'Think Happy' - what a nice way to start the day!

Thank you K11 ARTUS for the wonderful staycation!
