[Hong Kong] Sunday Brunch at Ozone with Dom Perignon and Joselito Ham

Rating: ❤❤❤❤1/2 (4.5/5)

I just had the most epic Sunday brunch over the weekend at Ozone in the Ritz Carlton Hotel with free-flow Dom Perignon 2006 and Joselito Pata Negra Ham! I've only been to the Ozone for drinks at night with its dazzling view of the city on 118/F so this was my first time trying the food at Ozone and I have to say I was impressed! Usually buffets sacrifice quality for quantity but not only was the quality of the food pretty good at Ozone, there were also a lot of choices from fresh seafood, grill station, Eggs Benedict station and desserts. The restaurant is bright with lots of natural light during the day time so you can admire the beautiful views while you eat. Priced at $1298 per person, the Sunday brunch at Ozone may not be cheap but you certainly get your money's worth with the free-flow champagne and variety of food offered.

One of the highlights of the Sunday brunch is Joselito ham which is considered the best in the world and served in many Michelin-starred restaurants (plus Ferran Adria is supposedly a fan!). The Jamon was carved right in front of me and carefully arranged on a plate with no limits at all so you can literally get as many plates of ham as you want!

Besides fresh lobsters, crabs, shrimps and mussels, there are also sushi, sashimi and many appetizers spread all around the restaurant for you to help yourself to.

The Grill Station offers Boston lobster, Iberico BBQ pork ribs, teriyaki chicken, New Zealand lamb, New Caledonia blue prawn and Wagyu beef "Picanha". The beef was really good and my favorite of the hot plate selection - especially when paired with truffle mashed potatoes on the side.

At the Eggs Benedict station, you can choose from three different flavors including Iberico loin, cured King Okra salmon and Italian pastrami with your choice of sauce. The mini burger slider on the side turned out to be really good as well!

Finally dessert time! I was literally like a kid in a candy shop since there were so many desserts available and I didn't know where to start. By the dessert tower, there were many flavors of macarons and profiteroles along with tiramisu, creme brulee, mango pudding and more to choose from. Every one of the dessert was delicious but my favorite was the rich and creamy tiramisu!

There was also a live dessert station where you can get freshly made waffles and profiteroles with the toppings and sauces of your choice (I see M&M's and gummy bears!).

Alas you can also indulge on Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Chef Rafael Gil was all smiles when he gave us the private room tour at the restaurant.

Verdict - the price of the Sunday brunch may not be cheap but it's worth it for special celebrations and the occasional indulgence (we all need it from time to time!). Also, be on the lookout for more Dom Perignon tasting experiences around the city in the coming months at renowned restaurants such as Arcane, Seasons, ON Dining, China Tang and Lobster Bar & Grill at Shangri-La.
